About this Product

My flip cup painting features a dynamic blend of colors inspired by the Disability Pride flag. Using a pouring technique, I layered the flag’s distinctive colors—black, yellow, and blue—into a cup and allowed them to flow and mix on the canvas. The result is a striking, abstract composition that celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of the disability community. The painting’s swirling patterns and rich hues symbolize strength, inclusivity, and the unique spectrum of experiences within the disability community.

Meet the Maker

Hello and welcome to my corner of Go Imagine!

After my crisis counselor shifts, I always looked for ways to decompress after my shifts. I found fluid art painting through YouTube and it brought a sense of ease and calm so I could fall asleep. I started dabbling in this art last summer and it has been so fulfilling and joyful, such a release. Friends and family know how important mental health awareness is to me and I wanted to share that through my art. If I can bring joy and peace to anyone with this art that playfully flows across the canvas, that fills my soul.

Thank you for visiting,

Angie

How it’s Made

To create this flip cup painting using Disability Pride colors, I employed a fluid acrylic pouring technique to capture the essence of the Disability Pride flag. I began by selecting a palette of colors representing the flag: black, yellow, and blue. I then carefully layered these colors into a cup, aiming to create a balanced and harmonious blend.

Once the paint was prepared, I poured it onto the canvas with a controlled flip, allowing the colors to spread and interact in an organic and dynamic way. As the paint flowed and mixed, it created an abstract composition of vibrant swirls and patterns. The process emphasized the natural movement and fluidity of the colors, reflecting the resilience and diversity of the disability community. My final artwork is a vivid representation of strength and inclusivity, celebrating the unique spectrum of experiences within the disability community through the interplay of colors and textures.

Looks so beautiful in person! The canvas was in great condition when it arrived. The piece is mounted on a wood frame making it easy to hang up and admire. 100% worth the asking price, especially for an original work. Adds a great pop of color to my room.
